Today, first time flyfishing in Sentosa. Beautiful island but over commercialized...

I think I was too late to be there. Early morning should be better as my friend Nick missed a queenie. He was kind enought to wait for me till after lunch.

While I was waiting for him to appear when I had reached Sentosa... I turned on my digicam to check on it. The screen started flashing, "NO MEMORY STICK"! Oh my goodness. Sadz....We carried on fishing till about 5pm and somethingelse happened. In my heart, I was so frustrated with myself that I left out the memory stick... nevermind... And then this had to happen...

My fly line got caught in between a roller for the floating fence in a lagoon. The line got jammed and if I dont get wet, it might be the end of this line...

In the darkest moment of the day, Nick decided to make the plunge into the lagoon to help me 'RESCUE' my fly line.

Operation Fly Line Rescue went as planned and 100% satisfactory!

Nick got the line out from the roller and I started reeling in like an old man... hahaha

After the rescue operation, we headed home, home sweet home in a taxi.

Before we reached home, our passion for fishing is not over yet and so we decided to meet up for more later in the night. I agreed.

Night fly fishing had been a nightmare for me. I am not used to casting in the night as I cant see and cant feel the line very well. Today is special, casting is fine and fly gets to where I want them to. Maybe I have been casting the whole afternoon.

While I was swinging the rod in the dark, I saw a commotion near the shore. Immediately, I cast my self-tied-ugly-noname-fly into the spot. Strip one, two, felt a tug! Saw the water around was swirling. My heart stopped and I prayed hard that I would NOT lost this one. While I was setting the hook, the line went limp... oh man!!!

Suddenly, my fly line started heading out to the deeper water... Fish On!!!!!

During the fight, it was as if there was an air show going on. I could hear fighter jets taking off in the night off a near by air base. While my fish was also doing multiple aerial displays. Whenever it jumped, my heart was praying hard that the fly would not come off. It jumped and jumped and jumped and my heart was throttling..... and throttling and throttling.....

Finally, in less than 5mins, (it seemed like it took forever) the fish touched dry land.

A HARUAN!!!

Quickly, I took some shots and let this fellow RTB after removing the hook.

I have fun. Real great fun... to be fishing...

Fishing is a passion!
