Just now, my staffs caught an angler stealing fish from the net. He claimed that he accidentally cast his bait into the net. My staff adviced him to release the fish back.
It didnt take long to have the fish at the bank of the pond and guess what?!?!?!
He didnt remove the hook from the fish mouth. My staff adviced him to cut the line but he showed us a signal meaning the fish swallowed the hook.
THEN HE FLIPPED THE FISH INTO MIDAIR USING THE LEADER STILL ATTACHED TO THE MOUTH. THE FISH WENT SOMERSAULT IN MIDAIR BEFORE LANDING INTO THE WATER...
My staff went ahead to question him why did he do that and why did he not remove the hook. He told my staff that the hook was on the face of the fish...
LIAR!!! ONE MOMENT FISH SWALLOWED HOOK, ONE MOMENT HOOK ON THE FACE...
BIG FAT LIAR!!!

Perhaps prevention is the best cure? People are tempted to all kind of things when they are desperate. Especially after paying $$ and get nothing. If they are not cool enough they will want to get something back home by hook or by crook. Maybe their wives will kill them for not bringing a fish back..lol
More secured way of covering the containment net can help yah?
Also, try circle the head in the picture lah. Not very good to shamed the wrong person.
Btw, any prawn-release yesterday or today? Very tempted to do some prawning for dinner tonight. Siao lah, addited liao.

We have done up several net cover to counter such incidents.
As for altering the timing of the anglers... I doubt we would do that.
For once, we actually asked the angler to leave and he must return us all the fish he caught. At the sametime, we return his $50.
The angler apologised, returned those 'stolen' fish but carried on fishing. He didnt want his $50 back too.
There are all kind of anglers in this world...
That aint no angler. He shd use his money go market & buy the fish instead.
1,2,3 & u r out is a good diplomatic way 2 curb such nuisance.
BTW Ed, is there a/shdnt there b a published fish release time-table ?. Many a time, ppl r asking around 'when release fish hah ?'. Then some answered, 'boh pang liao lah, u c !'. It helps busy anglers schedule their fishing time.
