Fire fire fire!!!
A fire broke out at almost midnight yesterday. During that time, I just reached home. I went pass this block too but the fire hadnt started then.
I only came to know about it when my friend called me this morning saying that a fire broke out at block 261. I thought it was nothing serious until I saw it with my own eyes.
The playground was totally destroyed in the fire and support pillars are the remainders. Looking at the floor, I could still see some remainders of the flooring. The shoot from the fire hit all the way up to the highest floor, 10th storey. I guess the smoke must be really thick when the fire broke out.
From the news, no one was killed. A few inhaled in too much smoke. From the look of it, the unit on the second storey suffered the most. The whole unit was almost totally destroyed. Those neighbours around and above are lucky as I believe they must have shut their windows tight when they discovered the fire.
Meanwhile, it is festive season for muslim as they are celebrating new year and it happens that the few unit above the playground are mainly muslim occupants. This is going to be the worst new year ever for them.
From news, witnesses mentioned that they heard a little explosion before the fire broke out. Some others witnessed some kids were playing with 'sparkles' at the playground. Actually there are a few different versions of verdict from the public.
From the shoot and imaginable smoke... thick black smoke, I suspect foul play. Some kind of fuel could have been employed to create such a huge blaze and that black smoke. Some kind of gasoline like disel might be the fuel as disel burns with black smoke. I am not a fire expect lah but just a guess. I shall leave the verdict to the specialists.
Hopefully, all the familys affected by the blaze are fine and those whose house got damaged could rebuild their home sweet home fast.
It was a sad day.... yesterday.
