2006 YAMAHA CUB PRIX CHAMPIONSHIP PHOTOS

20060829 Daybreak Assault - Freshwater

After my belida, we decided to hit a very remote place to do some flyfishing.

As we were on the way, my dear friend Ken dropped one of his slippers onto the road without even knowing. When we reached out next destination, he was already searching high and low in the van for spare slippers, too bad... no spares. Thus he went barefooted fishing... BAREFOOTED!!!

Actually, I wanted to take a picture of him barefooted but... oh well... LOL.

Ken, "Ouch... wooo.... sibei teern! wooo... Nabei... ouch!!!..." I was holding my breathe... and "hahahahaha..."

When I stepped into the fishing ground, immediately I was assaulted by their 'air force'. Two mossies flew in to intercept me and got 3 bites on me... one of them was annihilated from my anti-air palm... Immediately after the assaults, I stood up with my defence system, "OFF" mode. (You just might think that I am wearing a cologne.)

Upon activation of "OFF" mode... I fished free and easily. Kekeke...

"Never leave home without it... or you will regret..."

Not many splashes... but a popper was splashing on top of the water hoping for an unweary toman...

Not long, David had a miss with a snakehead. The hook didnt set well and the fish got off within seconds upon contact. Next he landed a little bady toman. I did as well but we were all actually aiming for its parents but these little fellows are just too eager for anything that moves in the water...

As for mine... it was actually a foul hooked... poor little fellow... after this incident... I stopped fishing. I felt kinda bad for this little fellow... the bronze hook went through its body from the left to the right...

Coming up next... 2006 YAMAHA CUB PRIX CHAMPIONSHIP and more a Kallang Stadium's carparks.

20060820, Early Morning Assault - Freshwater

After saltwater mission aborted... we decided to hit the freshie.

Luckily I was a 'concussed fighter pilot' in Acecombat V as I slept and not played the game at all. My eyes and body were still albe to 'endure' futher in the wheeeee...... hours of the morning.

We hit the freshwater and hoping that our luck would turn for good this time.

I am the lucky one this time. Perhaps because I did a good deed earlier on... heehee...

On my 3rd cast, I got a hit! Hmmm.... I confirmed it again by thumbing the spool and yes, the line was tight and something heavy on the other end of the line. A belida leaped into the air in no time! Wow! Fish-on!!! Kekeke... you know what, I was really happy! (I didnt even expected to catch a fish as I was really down with luck lately and had not caught a decent fish in about 10 trips... sigh...)

It took me about 5mins to win the tug-of-war. A beautiful belida was on the grass with the help of David. The fish hit 4.5lbs on my bogagrip. It's a decent fish for me after that long... finally.

This fish is really beautiful. After the photo taking, I quickly released the beauty back to its water again. The fish swamp away with no signs of fatigue at all.

I like and hate my Sony's T3... it takes great pictures, yes! It has a poor flash, oh YES! The shot is kinda dark... but my heart is lighted up. I wished that my darling was here with me to share my joy...

Belida, a beauty...

20060820, Midnight Night Assault - Saltwater

Looking at the tide table, my friends and I decided to give the barramundis' hideout another try. So far, no luck for us and we couldnt even smell one...

Upon reaching the spot, the place was as quiet as before... the waves were hitting the shoreline lightly and the gentle splashes against the rocks were so welcoming.

The last trip, David caught two lures... thus our eyes were wide opened this round. Hoping to be another lucky dude. LOL. No one 'caught' a lure but my friends suffered casualties... Phew... I was spared.

Lady Luck is not smiling at us at all... we all blanked in this session but I was lucky to see a barramundi! Next, a fingermark bream!!! Finally, I released two unlucky 'cats' from their misery. Apparently, someone was fishing the area earlier on. It was a double hook-ups on the appollo rig. Somehow, the line must had snagged either before hook-ups or after hook-ups or during hook-ups... (wadeva!!!)... I removed the hooks from them and set them free...

Indeed, my kindness was repaid later on but not at this spot.

The lucky kitties that got away safely.

20060815... the story continues...

20060815, 1845hrs

"Ok, we are leaving soon. Please get ready."

"Sure... I'll get prepared too."

******************************

In less than 30mins, Edward found himself in his friend's van heading down south for some actions. Total, 6 men were armed and ready to strike.

After about 69mins, we arrived at our targetted area... without a word, the van was left emptied and all men were armed and ready to go. (The team consisted of 5 strikers and a part time striker cum full time 'reporter'*.)

In less than 15mins, all men were in their respective positions and without a word, "Own time own target". FIRE!!!

Suddenly, so many poppers hit the surface of the water...

As usual, I am the reporter... (when is my turn... argh... LOL)

Edmund landed two todaks with baby bug! Champion of the night... the reel went screaming... the fish went splashing... my camera went flashing in the night...

************************************
Edmund's first pretty todak on baby bug.
************************************

********************************
Edmund's second todak for the night.
********************************

Just before the operation ended, another reel screamed... another fish jumped... another todak landed....

******************************
Errr.... fish number 3 for the night.
(I didnt get his name.)
******************************

Oh well, at least the company is good and funfilled time spent together.

The rest... let the photos do the talking...

"I'll be back..."

*reporter - me lah..... fishing cum photographer cum reporter cum blogger.... etc... LOL

Edward really can sleep...

20060815, 1130hrs

Edward finally moved abit... he finally woke up...
His pal got him online and chit chatted for almost 2hrs...

During the two hours, the sky turned pretty dark... and started to pour... HEAVILY...

Edward's friend needed to go off for appointment and their conversation ended.

Feeling lazy... Edward woke up at 1835hrs!!!!!

The earth shooked in dismay!!! (Somewhere got aeroplanes flying nearby...)

"Flying White Helmet"

Blank blank blank...

I just came back from a barramundi heaven but I caught nothing.

At least my pal caught something... two lures!!! The day before he caught two too!!! (different location) When he is not catching any fish... he 'caught' lures...

Oh well... at least I had crab encounter... LOL.

Very cute and so I took a pic for them... a pair I guess.

When we were luring we suddenly heard someone shouting...

"Hello... no fishing... down here no fishing..."

We didnt see anyone... suddenly we saw a helmet flying in the air...

Oh... this ah neh was wearing black black... face dark dark... helmet white color... "White helmet flying in the air..." Hahahaha...

*bleah*

"Ok ok..."

Is it because of the heightened security lately... even fishing at the smelly drain is not allowed anymore...

Oh well... I cant think of any reason other than the bomb threat... *scratching balls*

In Singapore... fishing is an offence...

So people... please do not pick up fishing hor... if not... wait kana "Flying White Helmet"!!!!!

"A letter from a daughter to her dad."

I got this from Clare.

"A father passing by his teenage daughter's bedroom was astonished to see the bed was nicely made and everything was neat and tidy. Then he saw an envelope propped up prominently on the centre of the pillow. It was addressed "Dad". With the worst premonition, he opened the envelope and read the letter with trembling hands:-

Dear Dad,
It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you, but I'm leaving home. I had to elope with my new boyfriend Randy because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you. I've been finding real passion with Randy and he is so nice to me. I know when you meet him you'll like him too - even with all his piercing, tattoos, and motorcycle clothes. But it's not only the passion Dad, I'm pregnant and Randy said that he wants me to have the kid and that we can be very happy together.

Even though Randy is much older than me (anyway, 42 isn't so old these days is it?), and has no money, really these things shouldn't stand in the way of our relationship, don't you agree? Randy has a great CD collection; he already owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. It's true he has other girlfriends as well but I know he'll be faithful to me in his own way. He wants to have many more children with me and that's now one of my dreams too.

Randy taught me that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone and he'll be growing it for us and we'll trade it with our friends for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want. In the meantime, we'll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so Randy can get better; he sure deserves it!!
Don't worry Dad, I'm 15 years old now and I know how to take care of myself. Someday I'm sure we'll be back to visit so you can get to know your grandchildren.

Your loving daughter, Rosie.

At the bottom of the page were the letters "PTO". Hands still trembling, her father turned the sheet, and read:

PS: Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at the neighbour's house. I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than my report card that's in my desk centre drawer. Please sign it and call when it is safe for me to come home. I love you!"

So... my dear friends who are fathers already... please take note... dont get caught by this hor... hahaha.

Some CRs from the past few days.

I have been MIA from the freshwater fishing scene for a while and after so long, I finally had time to go 'bash' again. Apparently, the result is not very good compared to what I used to experience like only a year or two ago.

*A cute young toman by David.*

Maybe I am concluding too soon. I think I should give myself a few more chances to these 'hot spots' again. Guess what... some of these places are disappearing now even when I am typing this...

*The nightmare of Black/White...*

More and more places are been given up for golfing... Although Singapore is so small but I think we have the most golf courses in the whole world in terms of land area... if only fishing could get such recognition but too bad it's only a dream over here...

*I was lucky to hit one of these just before we decided to leave for breakfast.*

Oh well, at least I am still catching fish here and there but the sizes are just getting miserable...

Two years ago... it is already the remnants and now... *no comments*

"Identificaiton of a FOOL" Dummies' Guide

"In today's world, what is man's(including both sexes) worst nightmare?"
Ans: It is MAN (including both sexes).

In life, everyone will definitely one day or many times come across a 'FOOL'.

What is a fool?

Do you know when a fool appear?

How to avoid them?

I am inspired by 'FOOL(s)' to write this guide...

WHAT IS A FOOL?
Characteristic of a FOOL
1) insecure 2) self-pity 3) loud 4) proud 5) unstable 6) act cool 7) always wear shades (to hide their sheepish eyes) 8) wear body fragrance always 9) *you are most welcomed to contribute further

DO YOU KNOW WHEN A FOOL APPEARS?

You will come to know them better if you read my guide here or simply have bad experiences with them. Otherwise, sharpen your senses to avoid them then... dont be dumb!
1) gossips - always bladdering and badmouthing others 2) begging for sympathy, always... - hoping for people to aknowledge his presence 3) you can hear him/her from afar... 4) their noses always high up in the air... 5) dressed up with branded atire and nice watches... (especially brands that those the group thinks highly of) 6) latest fashionable shades always on even when walking in stormy day... 7) if you didnt see him/her coming, you can smell them from afar... 8) *of course there are more but I think I am writing too much already...

HOW DO YOU AVOID THEM?

1) dont talk to them 2) when they talk, close your ears... act as if you did not hear them at all. 3) walk away from their coming direction as you might step on the poo that they stepped on earlier as their eyes are always looking up. 4) If you see nose hair... RUN!!! 5) DONT EVER HAVE THE SAME ITEMS AS THEM... IF NOT HE/SHE WILL THINK THAT YOU COPYCAT THEM!!! 6) wear your shades only when neccessary... 7) if you smell them... it might be too late... 8) *please contribute if you want to... glady accepted!!!

Ultimately, when you know how to identify a fool you should just ignore them. Sooner or later, they will know that they are not welcomed in the group. When they discover that they are not welcomed, they will find other victims to 'suffer' with them.

If they insist of staying in the group, then they are not FOOLS!!!

Beware!!!

Becoz' they are IDIOTS!!!

Maybe I should write a dummy guide for IDIOTS too...

Your suggestion is most welcomed. Thank you!

David's the man again!

Haiz... another fishless trip for me but David is hot on the roll. Twice in the roll to the same place, he would land something decent.

This long tom was crazy. It attacked the lure so ferocioulsy that it actually got itself landed on the breakwater right beside my legs!!! With a couple of flips it went back into the water again and then... the reel started to sing its favourite song again... "Tink tink tink..."

Nice tommy... (aka todak)

2006-08-03

Finally got 'kim bak lor' but not me... signz... ;P

My fishing journey contiuned...

CR 20060803

Looking at the tide table, it seemed promising for some surprises out in the salty. Thus, rang a few friends to get together to 'chiong'.

At our first location, my friend David lost a lure. I was lucky enough to get mine back but I got wet, just one sleeve and both my legs just above my knees. I could see it, touched it... thus I gave it a try and almost ended up fully wet. That place is deep, really... come to think of it now... I was kinda crazy...

Everything was still except for some loud music from afar... the DJ was playing some of my favourite bands' songs like Simple Plan - Untitled and Daniel Powter - Bad Day... I was singing along...

After about an hour, we decided to move on. We thought we were all going home and David set off in his van in opposite direction! Oh well... I thought it was a prank but we really ended up at another spot...

Not even into 15mins of fishing... we had a few hits and a hooked up. A nice barracuda landed by David on a chug bug. Todaks were 'flying' around and obviously... the pirates were around.

After not too long, another big commotion on the surface of the water. Kok Liang's popper was targetted but that pirate just missed it. I even saw that pirate came out of the water to hit it... too bad.

The wind picked up and it was really rough out there. Just as I was comtemplating to carry on using popper or not... another huge explosion in the water and next, SCREAMING drag.

David was on another fish again. This time, a decent barramundi. Nicely done.

Time ran out on us and we had to leave...

We'll be back.

Stay tuned. ;P

**********************************************

I have just added two more photos from last night adventure. Blogspot is kinda laggy last night and it took me almost an hour just to be the two photos uploaded after several times. A blank screen appeared at the end of the uploading and... oh well... tried again lor... Now the traffic seems to be better and finally managed to get these two more photos in.

Anyway, both fish were caught and released. Hopefully they will go eat and eat and eat and multiply and multiply... hahaha

Bigger ones please...

I just got back from Bedok Reservoir. I was targetting for peacock bass but guess what... I didnt see any today. Not even a tiny one...

I only saw tomans. They just love following whatever I present to them from my tackle box but without hitting them at all. I saw 3 different tomans and all did the same thing to me....

I popped, jigged, lured... nothing work... finally when I was about to give up... I caught this...

I guess it is better than nothing... at least my new rod caught a fish on the very first day out at the water.

Hopefully, I could get something bigger... bigger please... ;P
